Understanding The Infinite

Today there is just breath and heartbeat.
A promised quiet for remembrance and a hope that traumatic waves will be met, blanketed and engulfed in love. This is the way of Miles.
This isn’t my day for writing long words, especially on the anniversary of his exit. But I am compelled to share with overwhelming hope and gracious knowing that all the abundant love for our beautiful vibrant glowing Miles has been met, magnified, multiplied at an alarming rate and gently yet gloriously exploded into a galaxy of love.
On this day in 2022 we all became awash in it, no matter your distance from the source. First responders, sirens, rain and roadsides, news alerts, shaky handed weak kneed phone calls, doorsteps, shockwaves, convulsions and awe, sharp relentless cutting tears, gathered vigils with song, meals delivered, hotels and flights, funds gathered, collective holy sleeplessness, unfathomable words found in the dark, warm blankets, porch fires and puzzles.
Within those first minutes, hours, days, our motley steadfast traumatized love galaxy grew.
A few days ago, before leaving town, I went to Miles’ room and was drawn to his bookshelf. I opened his copy of Tao Te Ching to the bookmarked page I was told about. I knew I would come to it when the time was right.
Chapter 52, page 62, Understanding The Infinite.
Immediately after reading I had to google “Dao” and was sharply reminded just how much I have to learn with a smattering of credit for how much we already know. Of course Miles, you would take us there.
Thank you dear beautiful infinite child for yet another gift to be explored today and everyday.
With tender, thankful, stardust love,
Laura, David, Izzy and Miles
