Emotion comes naturally. It’s my favorite thing in dance, embodying the meaning of a piece”

~ Miles, Grade 9 Yearbook Quote

This compilation was lovingly created for Miles' Celebration of Life and Love by his beloved Movement Lab dance teacher, Bernadette Alverio-Tonks.

Miles was drawn to the stage as much as the audience was drawn to him. Charmed at first by his youthful bravery, over time we watched him transform to the accomplished dancer he became.

Starting at age 6, his annual Cherry Valley Variety Show performances, various stints at local dance and theater companies (including a young performance with the Moscow Ballet Nutcracker), his high school years at ArtQuest all honed his skills and naturally developed magnetism.

Yet Miles’ true love, for the all encompassing art of dance, was cemented with his many years at The Movement Lab in Santa Rosa Ca. Under the careful expertise, love and guidance of their gifted leader, Bernadette and the dance family she fosters.

“Miles was a force, an energy, a beautiful light. He didn’t just light up the room, he would find a way to make everyone in that room beam with joy. His energy was brilliant and would shine wherever he was. He brought us joy, laughter, love, and peace. He shared his love of life and adventure. Joy and calm. A true lover of life and all it’s beauty. I know he is with us and will continue to shine that bright light upon every one of us.

We love you and miss you, Miles.
May your spirit continue to shine and watch over us.”

“The Legacy of Miles. That’s what we call it when we see Cooper taking a picture with a small dancer, or hearing that the young dancers want to take ballet or jazz after watching the boys fully commit in their performances. Miles was an amazing human and his genuine being will be carried with care for years to come. Thank you for granting Cooper and the boys the honor of the Legacy of Miles”

~ Quote from Cooper’s Dad
